Amber Hopkins

Amber Hopkins has been working directly with and mentoring youth since 1993. After serving as the Chairman and Principal Mentor for Statesman and Leadership Academy, she started Adventures in Leadership and began a Life Coaching business so she could work more intimately with couples and young adults. She’s been married to her prince charming for 34 years, is called mother by 8 and gramma by 4. Next to being with her family, you can find Amber in her garden creating color or at the beach in the waves! She believes family is the core of societies and is devoted to her mission to strengthen them!

1st Year

Mencina aka Miss Ina

Mecina is from the beautiful area of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, and this is her first year being a counselor.

She loves just about anything outdoors, country dancing, reading, living life and learning about the world. A fun fact about Mecina is that she absolutely loves mint chocolate chip ice cream!

Get ready for this year, it's gonna be a blast!"

Nathan aka Jugga

Nathan Hopkins has been attending since he was 10 cuz that what happens when your mom is in charge. This is his first year as a counselor but has been attending as a youth for 9 years. He has a love for making people smile and feel special. He loves going out and being active but also knows what it’s like to enjoy staying inside all day.

Nicole aka Coleybear

Nicole Curry is a dedicated educator with three years of teaching experience. She graduated from BYU-Idaho in December 2022 and has a deep passion for learning. An avid reader of all genres, she believes in the power of curiosity and lifelong learning. Whether in the classroom or beyond, Nicole strives to inspire her students to explore new ideas and develop a love for knowledge.

Kaitlynn aka KitKat

Kaitlynn has been attending these youth leadership retreats since she was twelve and has loved coming back as a counselor. She is passionate about working with youth and loves teaching them important life skills. She is currently enrolled as a student at BYUI and is studying musical arts and loves playing the piano and ukulele. Her favorite pastimes are spending time outside hiking, or sitting in the sun with a good book.

Elle aka Bellie

Elle has been attending the retreat for the last 4 years but is excited to be a counselor again for her 2nd time. She just recently graduated cosmetology school and hopes to start her own business. Elle loves nature and is always down for an adventure! She loves stories, connecting with people, ice cream, animals, and learning about crazy things. Her dream is to travel the world one day.

Abriel is an outdoor loving game enthusiast. He has been apart of these Youth Leadership Retreats for three years now and has loved every second of it. He loves to hike and bolder and you'll likely find him on a cool rock more often then not. He is excited to meet you guys and see you have fun and grow!
